Gladys received a full scholarship to Virginia State College (now Virginia State University) Her work contributed to the development of the GPS. She worked on the Naval Ordnance Research Calculator (NORC), a program design which won an award because it could determine the movements of Pluto in relation to Neptune.

Ivan E. Sutherland

Ivan E. Sutherland was the winner of the 1988 A.M. Turing Award (the highest honor in computer science due to his inspiring ideas and contributions to computer graphics. He wrote a computer program called Sketchpad which was the beginning of GUI and CAD. It allowed the user to draw and create 3D models. It became the first use of computer graphics. He also began projects on time sharing systems and AI.

Marc Hannah graduated from the University of Illinois receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He pursued Stanford, and in turn, earned his Master of Science degree while also being sincerely congratulated with the Black Engineer of the Year Award. Co-founding Silicon Graphics, Inc., Marc Hannah spent 16 years helping the company expand from small beginnings to a astoundingly wealthy company. This company sold products such as desktop workstations to multiprocessor supercomputers. Marc Hannah was also well-known for developing #D special effects systems used variously not only in movies, but in video game systems such as Nintendo products.
